VANCOUVER - It was all trick and no treat for firefighters in several Metro Vancouver locations in the hours after Halloween.
A blaze swept through a fireworks supply store in East Vancouver at about 6 a.m. Monday morning, sending flames shooting into the air as explosions rattled the structure.
Just hours earlier, one man was seriously hurt and two other people suffered minor injuries when fire damaged one suite of a 20 storey apartment in Burnaby.
Evacuated residents of that highrise were being allowed to return to some units by sunrise after being forced out at around 3 a.m.
And a candle from a pumpkin may have ignited vinyl siding on a home in Surrey late Sunday night, destroying the house.
Crews in Surrey are still confirming what started that fire and the causes of the fires in Burnaby and east Vancouver are also under investigation. (News1130, CKNW)
