The biggest donor to left-leaning Vision Vancouver was a company synonymous with local capitalism.
Canaccord Capital gave $25,000 on June 26, 2009 to the ruling civic party, according to unaudited financial statements released Friday.
Vision raised $433,560.83 from 1,497 donors between March 1, 2009 and June 30,2010.
Developers Aquilini Development and Construction ($10,000) and Wall Financial ($10,000) were among corporate donors.
Vancouver Police Union ($3,250) and Vancouver Fire Fighters Union ($2,600) were the top two union donors.
In May, the Vision dominated city council gave police, firefighters, teachers and nurses preferred treatment for Olympic Village rentals.
