Former councillor Suzanne Anton gets Liberal nod in Vancouver-Fraserview

After losing her first bid for a Liberal party nomination in Vancouver, former city councillor Suzanne Anton has been successful on her second try.

Anton has been acclaimed in the Vancouver-Fraserview riding.

She'll replace MLA Kash Heed, who is not seeking re-election when the province goes to the polls on May 14.

Anton has nine years of service in Vancouver as a councillor and park board member but her roots in Fraserview are not as deep.

Retired MP Herb Dhaliwal, who represented the riding at the federal level for 11 years, has announced he will act as the honorary chair of her campaign.

Anton, a lawyer and one-time mayoral hopeful, lost the Vancouver-Quilchena Liberal nomination to former party president Andrew Wilkinson last month.
