Bios

Ben Kangasniemi

Ben Kangasniemi is chair of the "Resilient Communities: Preparing for the Climate Challenge" forum being held by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions on June 14 and 15. Prior to this role, he served in a variety of technical and management roles with the B.C. Ministry of Environment. He has also co-chaired the Puget Sound/Georgia Basin International Task Force, managed the Saanich Inlet Study and led development of drinking water source protection policy. Ben has focused on climate change issues since 2002, helping to establish the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium based at the University of Victoria, and working for the Climate Action Secretariat until 2010.
