The B.C. government reported another 19 confirmed H1N1 cases on Saturday. According to the government's news release, "This jump in numbers represents a catch up in the lab work at the B.C. Centre for Disease Control."
The total, as of noon on Saturday, was 79.
The release said the Fraser Health region has 32 of the cases. Vancouver Coast has 22, Northern Health has 13, Vancouver Island has 10, and Interior Health has two.
According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, the national total on Saturday was 280 cases, 38 of them new. One person in Canada has died of H1N1.
Early Saturday, the World Health Organization reported 3,440 cases in 29 countries.
