Adrian Dix gained 110 votes in the second round of the BC NDP leadership race, while Mike Farnworth's support decreased.
Dix now has 7,748 votes to Farnworth's 6,951. Horgan's support grew to 5,034 votes, but not enough to move him into second place.
It is now Dix versus Farnworth in the final round of voting. The round opened at 5:50 p.m., with results expected to be announced half an hour later.
It would have taken 9,867 votes to win on the second round. The total number of votes cast in the round dropped to 19,756 from a first round total of 20,016.
Between rounds, Nicholas Simons, who left the leadership race and put his support behind Horgan, pointed out that he was now wearing a Farnworth button.
Another Horgan supporter, Bill Routley, was wearing a Dix button, while a third, Kathy Corrigan, kept her Horgan button on but said she'd voted for Dix as her second choice.
