Carole James’ New Democratic Party took stabs at the B.C. Rail scandal and the privatization of the province’s resources in an attack ad released today.
The ad flashes phrases across the screen like “Mills closed” and “Water rights sold” in an attempt to portray the B.C. Liberals in a negative light.
“[This] is really hitting the Liberals where it hurts,” said Dennis Pilon, professor at the University of Victory’s department of political science.
The NDP haven’t been able to gain a lot of mileage on the 2003 sale of B.C. Rail, even though the issue could call the integrity of Gordon Campbell’s Liberal government into question, Pilon said.
“Given the situation the New Democrats are in, this is exactly what they need to do,” he said.
