Labour rallies for coalition

Speaking on CBC TV’s Politics program today, Ken Georgetti of the Canadian Labour Congress told host Don Newman that organized labour decided last week to host anti-government rallies after finding nothing substantive in the Conservatives’ economic update. Then everything went crazy.

With the emergence of the coalition over the weekend, the events turned into “Coalition for Canada” rallies. In Vancouver, the CLC and B.C. Federation of Labour are sponsoring a one-hour rally at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, next to the Waterfront Skytrain station.

Doors will open at 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 4, with the rally scheduled to start at 6:00 and end by 7:00.
