The Hook: Political news, freshly caught

Twittersphere tracks BC by-elections

As the polls close in today's by-elections in Port Moody-Coquitlam and Chilliwack-Hope, the Twittersphere is covering the results. And so is The Hook.

The key hashtag to follow is #byelxn, where tweeters of all parties are posting comments and links to other news sources. Other good hashtags: #bcpoli, B.C. Conservatives, B.C. Liberals, and B.C. NDP.

Also worth following: the candidates themselves. In Port Moody-Coquitlam they include Joe Trasolini (NDP), Christine Clarke (Conservative), and Dennis Marsden (Liberal). In Chilliwack-Hope, Gwen O'Mahony is running for the NDP, Laurie Throness for the Liberals, and John Martin for the Conservatives.
