Tyee Builders do it Portland-style

Are you one of The Tyee's 600 monthly supporters?

Do you like late-summer road-trips? How about contemporary art, Neko Case and free meals cooked up by world-class chefs? If yes, you'll want to read carefully.

The Tyee has some weekend passes for three late-summer festivals in Portland, Oregon.

Until we run out, passes are available free to Tyee Builders (upon request) -- a small token of thanks for your ongoing support.

Quantities are very limited so act fast. Here's how to request yours.

1. Select the Portland festival you'd like to attend for free:

-- All-show wristband (value $150) for MusicFestNW, Sept. 3-8 (SORRY, SOLD OUT)

From the festival description: "Six nights, more than 150 bands, 16 clubs throughout the city… this is MusicfestNW. Now in its 13th year, MusicfestNW is the third largest indoor music festival in the country. Time magazine dubbed it 'one of 50 authentic American experiences.'

"MusicfestNW kicks off four of its six evenings at Pioneer Courthouse Square -- downtown Portland's civic living room -- with outdoor performances headlined by sun-soaked indie rockers Young The Giant, the experimental psychedelic sounds of Animal Collective, indie folk The Head and the Heart and skilled singer-songwriter Neko Case."

-- Flex pass (value $150) for PICA's Time-Based Art Festival, Sept. 12-22

From the festival description: "Called 'the best contemporary summer festival in the country' by The New York Times, the Time-Based Art Festival (TBA) activates the city with contemporary art projects in theatres, galleries and converted warehouses, with a full slate of performances, exhibitions, workshops, talks and late-night happenings. TBA crosses artistic disciplines and celebrates those artists who are challenging forms, from dance to performance to visual art and beyond. Global in scope, TBA exposes artists from regions around the world, with projects hailing from Morocco, Algeria, Sweden, Argentina, as well as from across the U.S. and along the West Coast."

-- Two-day pass (value $120) to the Grand Tasting at Bon Appétit Presents Feast Portland, Sept. 19-22

From the festival description: "Bon Appétit presents Feast Portland is the flagship food and drink festival in the Pacific Northwest, capturing the current energy and enthusiasm driving America's food revolution. Feast Portland showcases local culinary talent and Pacific Northwest ingredients alongside internationally recognized chefs, culinary professionals and industry leaders."
