The Spur Festival kicks off Monday, June 17, with a panel discussion titled "Where does change happen?" featuring rogue Senate page Brigette DePape and others. Events continue into the week including a conversation on the current state and future of the theatre, a discussion with Ipsos Reid VP Kyle Braid on the usefulness of the political poll in light of recent provincial election surprises, and a talk with artists on the role and significance of the Pacific Ocean.

Tyee Builders help make The Tyee's journalism more sustainable through small monthly contributions. Surprise giveaways like this one are meant to show our gratitude for their enormous ongoing support.

Perhaps the greatest perk for Tyee Builders is satisfaction in being part of a movement for a more democratic Canadian news media. At the time of writing, we're at 590 Tyee Builders, and counting.
