With over 6,000 advance votes to be counted, Vancouver-Point Grey NDP candidate David Eby addressed supporters for the first time this evening, saying it's too early to call.
"There's a bit of a wait a head of us," Eby told the packed Nuba Restaurant in Kitsilano where his after party is being held.
Following closely on the heels of NDP leader Adrian Dix's concession speech, Eby told his supporters the evening has been "bittersweet so far."
But Eby could still pull off one of the biggest upsets of the night, turfing Christy Clark from her seat. Clark had refused to debate Eby and other Point Grey candidates, choosing to focus on debating other party leaders. Now the results are too close to call for Clark, who is expected to make her victory speech for the Liberal sweep any minute.
"I think we can pull this off tonight," Eby told his supporters, thanking his staff, family, and 350 volunteers for their efforts.
"Let's have a good time."
Katie Hyslop is reporting from Eby's campaign.
