Freeze! — And Watch New Zealand Police’s Viral Recruitment Video

It’s popular for good reason too: cats, helicopters, stunts and diversity

Submitted by Tyee Staff, 5 Dec 2017

The New Zealand Police are calling their latest recruitment video the “world’s most entertaining” and it’s hard to disagree.

Seventy real cops and everyday New Zealanders make an appearance, with surprises like the police band. The force is shown in full force in all kinds of environments, from industrial land to Kiwi suburbia.

The cops are also ethnically diverse, because the force wants to attract “more women, Māori, Pacific Islanders, and people from all other ethnicities and backgrounds to better reflect the communities we serve.”

Oh, and there’s some pelvic-thrusting dancing.
