In November, the U.S. will elect either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Both made their cases for the presidency at recent party conventions.
GOP candidate Trump sowed much of the same fear in his speech that has been a part of his campaign.
“The problems we face now – poverty and violence at home, war and destruction abroad – will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them,” said Trump. “I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people that cannot defend themselves. Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.”
In the video above, President Barack Obama gives a speech at the Democratic National Convention and shares what many democrats wanted to hear: his thoughts on Trump.
“America is already great,” said the president. “America is already strong. And I promise you, our strength, our greatness does not depend on Donald Trump.”
And unlike Trump, Hillary Clinton emphasized that the seat she’s vying for isn’t a one person job. “Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart. Bonds of trust and respect are fraying. And just as with our founders, there are no guarantees. It truly is up to us. We have to decide whether we all will work together so we all can rise together.”
