To vote, follow these three (hopefully) simple steps:
Step 1: Sign up for a trial version of the free Tyee e-newsletter in the box at the bottom of this page.
Don't worry. It's easy to opt out if you don't like it but know that being a subscriber is a great no-cost way to support independent journalism.
Existing subscribers must sign up again in order to vote. However, we will not send duplicate newsletters to the same email address.
Step 2: When you get the email that confirms the newsletter subscription, click the confirmation link in that email. This tells us your email address is valid. And it triggers a second email.
Step 3: That second email has a link to the voting form. Click the link in that second email to access the form.
If you want to know why we've structured the voting this way, read on. If you just want to get on with it, go to the bottom of this page and submit your email address.
This, along with a few other simple checks, is the best way with our limited resources to reduce the risk of voting irregularities. It's not perfect but we hope you respect the positive spirit of this friendly competition.
Besides, the newsletter packs all that’s great about The Tyee into a free weekly email. It includes fresh links to the latest stories and early notice of Tyee contests and events.
We sincerely think you’ll like it. If you don't, it's easy to opt out.
