CONTEST: Experience Some of BC’s Best Applied Art and Design

What happens when some of British Columbia’s most accomplished artists, designers and creative thinkers come together in one room?

On Nov. 19, the Sam Carter Award in Applied Art + Design will bring together B.C.’s creative community to celebrate the people whose work shapes how we live, work and experience the world around us.

Presented by BC Achievement Foundation, the annual award program recognizes excellence in applied art and design across the province, shining a light on creative practices where artistry and function meet.

The award reception is an evening filled with creative energy, connecting artists and designers, past and current award recipients, industry leaders and supporters, to celebrate excellence in functional art such as ceramics, apparel, lighting, furniture and more.

Guests will experience an exhibition featuring work by this year’s award recipients, meet the people behind it and discover the extraordinary breadth of applied art and design being created in British Columbia.

From objects made by hand to ideas that transform materials, spaces and everyday experiences, applied art and design are all around us. They reflect who we are, how we live and what we value. The people creating this work contribute to B.C.’s communities, economy and creative future.
