Police Remove Yes Men from TPP Reception for Staging Fake Award

Submitted by Tyee Staff, 4 Jul 2012

Back in May in Dallas, the Yes Men tried to draw attention to what up to then had been secret negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. They did so by crashing a TPP reception to give one of the negotiators a fake award, as the video shows.

These negotiations, as The Tyee recently reported here, here and here, have the potential to, among other things, impact net neutrality, change domestic copyright rules, Canadian farming policies and more. All without any apparent democratic debate.
