After the first ballot in the B.C. NDP leadership race, Adrian Dix is ahead of Mike Farnworth and John Horgan.
Dix had 7,638 votes, over 38 percent of ballots cast.
Farnworth was in a close second, with 6,979 votes, accounting for nearly 35 percent of the vote.
Horgan trailed with 4,844 votes (24 percent).
Pro-marijuana activist Dana Larsen received 531 votes, and is dropped from the ballot for the second round of voting. That second ballot is underway, with results expected to be announced at 5:45 p.m.
Candidates may voluntarily withdraw from the race between rounds of voting. With Larsen leaving, there are too few votes for Horgan to move into second. A spokesperson for Horgan's campaign said Horgan will stay in the race.
More than 71 percent of 28,000 eligible voters cast a vote.
