With the Conservatives raging against Gilles Duceppe and his “veto power” over a possible coalition government, has Harper written off Quebec for good?
That’s the speculation of Noni Mausa at The Galloping Beaver, a Canadian politics blog:
No matter what else happens, I think the Conservatives can wave bye-bye to support in Quebec, as a result of their using the dangers! of them foreigners! having a Veto! in Parliament! being trumpeted from sea to sea, not just by loose cannon Con sympathizers but including their own talking points shipped out to the party faithful to burden radio talk shows for the next few days or weeks.
In more than one of these talking points (thanks Montreal Gazette!) I hear the echoes of the Swiftboating 2.0 attempted south of the border just weeks ago.
The themes included foreignness (mostly Quebecois variety), financial danger, power-hungriness, and strangely, religious badness, not usually a Canadian type of thing. I just heard MP Deepak Obhrai in a live tape loop on CPAC, wherein he said “unholy alliance” at least 15 times in 3 endless minutes.

And probably saying goodbye to a majority too
The result in terms of support for the PQ in the December 8 general election in Quebec will be very interesting....people in Quebec - having had their cultural identity stomped on in the federal election are now seeing their elected representatives treated like vermin in the House of Commons by the pretender who calls himself the Prime Minister.
Hopefully the man will come to his senses before it is too late and the damage will have been done.
Out of whole cloth, he is creating a national unity crisis.

ReformaTory Contempt for Quebec ...
... is almost as virulent as Harper's contempt for Parliament.
And now Harper's contempt for independent public inquiry is revealed again as the Airbus zombie rises again:

Harper's Contempt
Harper has contempt for virtually anyone and everyone who doesn't share his views or who he perceives as getting in the way of his massive ambition. His arrogance will be his undoing.

The more the CONs yell and
The more the CONs yell and scream, the more stupid they look. They seem to take a delight in trying to make this country more divided, as if they are the only loyal Canadians and they're the only saviours.
