Since last Wednesday, the email service The Tyee uses to send its daily and weekly newsletters has been experiencing technical problems. As a result, we've not been able to send any newsletters.
We apologize for the frustration and inconvenience. Rest assured that there is nothing wrong with your subscription.
The service we use has been hard at work trying to fix the problem, but are unclear as to when that will be done. We hope to have everything back in place by the end of this week if not sooner.
Why do we use a third-party service?
This is not unusual. Many, if not all, organizations that send large email volumes (anything more than a couple of hundred per month) use a third-party broadcasting service. These services work closely with Internet service providers (ISPs) to make sure these large email deliveries don't get caught in ISP spam filters. These services also make it easier to track subscriber preferences, like whether you want the daily or the weekly Tyee email.
How do I keep track of all the great Tyee reporting?
We're glad you asked. There are a number of ways to stay up on The Tyee's reporting besides email. You can:
- Like us on Facebook.
- Follow us on Twitter.
- Grab our RSS feed.
- Set The Tyee as your home page (or just check back regularly).
