The Hook: Political news, freshly caught

Weaver wins first ever Green seat in BC: Globe

Star Green candidate Andrew Weaver has won the party's first ever seat in B.C. history, the Globe and Mail is reporting.

Weaver, its story read, has won "a three-way race that included cabinet minister Ida Chong in Oak Bay-Gordon Head."

Before the results came in, an exhilarated-looking Weaver told reporters that he had begun the day with "a lot of trepidation" but was feeling confident.

Geoff Dembicki reports for The Tyee.
