Jerry Thompson

Jerry Thompson is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. He emigrated to Canada in 1974, and became a Canadian in 1978.

Jerry's grand ambition was to become a bush pilot and to live the idyllic life of a hermit in Canada’s north woods. By some bizarre twist of fate he became a journalist, documentary filmmaker and author instead. On November 9th, 1989, Jerry climbed the Berlin Wall to witness the collapse of Communism, and has won two Gemini awards for his stories.

In January 1994, Jerry began writing and directing hour-long documentaries in partnership with his wife, producer Bette Thompson. The Thompsons live in the village of Sechelt on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Jerry is the author of Cascadia’s Fault—The Deadly Earthquake That Will Devastate North America.
