Holding Back the Fraser

In this series, award-winning writer Chris Wood looks at what officials are doing to protect residents in this season of extremely high flood risk. This series follows on last August's Rough Weather Ahead, Wood's Tyee Investigative Reporting Fellowship series on how global warming will hit B.C., causing more flooding as well as drought. Wood's series broke the news that government researchers had determined dikes along the Lower Fraser River were inadequate to hold back predictable flood levels in the near future.
