Singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé is a rising star in the Canadian music scene.
Born and raised in Montreal to Haitian parents, Fils-Aimé’s work is infused with the history of Black music in North America.
With “tour de force vocals” (Toronto Star), she weaves jazz, gospel, soul and R&B into a sound that is uniquely her own.
Her 2021 album Three Little Words was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize while her most recent album, Our Roots Run Deep (2023), won the Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year.
For her upcoming concert on March 7 at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver, she performs music from her new album, My World Is the Sun, out on Feb. 20.
Having toured with Allison Russell and opened for acts like Diana Krall and Melody Gardot, Fils-Aimé is stepping into her own with her debut performance at the Chan Centre.
Fils-Aimé is poised to become one of Canada’s most poignant, soul-stirring artists. For more information on her upcoming performance, visit the Chan Centre’s website. ![]()
