Tyee Poll: How Are You Supporting the Movement for Black Lives?

The weeks since the May 25 murder of George Floyd have continued to build a movement demanding justice against anti-Black racism and an end to police brutality.

The call to defund the police and redistribute funds to community-led organizations focusing on de-escalation and mental health support keeps gathering momentum.

Some have said that racism doesn’t exist the same way in Canada. The recent protests in Vancouver have suggested otherwise, where thousands showed up and shared stories of racism experienced locally, and a blockade at the once-hub of Vancouver's Black community, Hogan's Alley, brought light to a community since displaced.

As the movement throttles forward, and protests continue to create meaningful change, some of us are left asking how we can make a difference and how to be positive allies.

With this on our minds, and with our eyes and hearts on the movement, we want to ask: How are you supporting the movement for Black lives?
