Are You Concerned about AI?

The world is abuzz with gauging the future of AI.

Tech companies are pinning their fortunes on the artificial intelligence boom, and many are building their own proprietary AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which took the world by storm over a year ago.

This month, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $2.4 billion in AI-related investments in Canada, with $200 million pinned for boosting adoption across various sectors. $50 million is proposed for a government-launched AI safety institute.

Tyee writers have weighed in over time on what artificial intelligence could hold for us, from its effects on writing to education to climate change.

With opinions ranging from optimism about AI’s capacity to help solve our society’s problems, to fears that it could bring about the end of the world as we know it, we want to ask:

Are you concerned about AI?
