Tyee Poll: Are You Gathering This Holiday Season?

It’s our second pandemic winter, and this December feels a lot different than last. At this time last year, the first vaccines were just being delivered in B.C.

The COVID landscape has changed. We’re another year wiser, yet new variants are still changing the picture. Most recently, that’s Omicron. Eating in restaurants, going to events and indoor group recreation have returned for those with two doses of vaccine. But what fully vaccinated looks like is being re-evaluated.

As seasoned travellers of the pandemic, we’ve become both weathered and resilient; but the virus is adapting as we do. Gathering might not be the taboo it once was, but caution and awareness remain critical. Some are staying home, or planning to celebrate among only a few. With so many changing factors, we want to ask:

Are you gathering beyond your household this holiday season?
