Do You Generally Vote in Advance, or on Election Day?

Some people procrastinate. Others are eager beavers — even, or especially, when it comes to our democracy.

With B.C. in the midst of two elections, one civic and the other provincial, residents will be bringing their own time-management approaches to local democratic participation. Thousands will take advantage of the opportunity to vote in advance polls, but history suggests that most will leave it to the last possible day to cast their ballot.

In 2024’s provincial election, more than a million people cast advance ballots. That was a new record.

The Tyee wants to know what kind of person you are. Do you enjoy the ritual of voting on election day? Do you value the ability to react to campaign development in the last day? Or do you want to get your democratic duty out of the way as soon, or as conveniently as possible?

Let us know!

Do you generally vote in advance, or on election day?
