Alberta Premier Danielle Smith continues to raise the spectre of Alberta separation, including by pushing laws that make it easier to hold a referendum in the province.
And groups like the Alberta Prosperity Project seem eager to put a referendum on sovereignty on the agenda.
It isn’t the first time leaders and activists in Alberta have stoked the coals of western alienation for political gain.
But with a secession referendum potentially on the horizon, this long and fuzzy Albertan tradition could — like the U.K.’s Brexit referendum — soon end with some firm, material consequences.
With this in mind, we want to ask:
How do you feel about Alberta separatists?
