After nearly a decade at the helm, Justin Trudeau announced in January that he would stepping down from his role as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada — and prime minister.
His resignation kicked off a Liberal leadership race, with much speculation about who will replace him.
The frontrunners are Mark Carney — former governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England — and Chrystia Freeland — who, until her resignation from cabinet in December, was deputy prime minister and finance minister.
Both have the most caucus endorsements so far.
Other candidates include Burlington MP and former Government House Leader Karina Gould, former Pierrefonds-Dollard MP Frank Baylis and former Brampton-Springdale MP Ruby Dhalla.
Mi’kmaq MP Jaime Battiste, who declared his intention to run, has since dropped out of the race and has endorsed Carney. The Liberals will announce their new leader on March 9.
With all this in mind, we want to ask:
Who will win the Liberal leadership race?
