Julie Jenkins is admin and outreach assistant at The Tyee. She is currently completing an honours degree in political science at the University of British Columbia.

Connection to B.C.: Born in and raised by the 1,600-resident village of Bowser on Vancouver Island, Julie's childhood was spent flattening pennies on the E&N railway and picking foxgloves off the side of the Old Island Highway. Years later she's been shaped into proper urbanite, but still anticipates Herring Season annually and sometimes forgets to look both ways before crossing Vancouver's busy streets.
