Julie Green

Julie M. Green is the author of Motherness: A Memoir of Generational Autism, Parenthood, and Radical Acceptance, which was named a CBC best non-fiction book for 2025, an Audible best audiobook of 2025, a No. 1 Amazon bestseller in disability memoir and a finalist for the Foreword Indies Book of the Year Award. She was long-listed for the CBC Nonfiction Prize in 2024.

Her writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Globe and Mail, HuffPost, Chatelaine and more. She writes about parenting and neurodiversity at The Autistic Mom on Substack.

Green lives in Kingston, Ontario, with her husband, teenage son and Old English bulldog. In her spare time she runs a women's book club and volunteers at an arts centre for adults with developmental disabilities.
