Jarol Boan

Dr. Jarol Boan is a physician of settler background. Boan grew up in Regina and spent 20 years treating patients and working in academic institutions in the United States before returning to practise in Canada. Upon her return to Saskatchewan in 2011, she became involved in Indigenous health. Her focus on community engagement and listening to ways of knowing integrates appropriate cultural responsiveness between the settler community and Indigenous partners.

She is associate professor of medicine at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine in Regina, and currently divides her time between Saskatchewan and Pennsylvania.
