Brittany Hopkins

Brittany Hopkins is a freelance journalist and newcomer in Vancouver.

Born and raised in California, she broke into journalism reporting hyperlocal news brewing in the heart of San Francisco. There she pounded the pavement, exploring everything from entrepreneurism, arts and culture to crime and politics, before moving to Argentina to expand her Spanish vocabulary and worldview.

Hopkins is a glutton for old school civic journalism, gets her thrills from uncovering hidden gems around town and is passionate about elevating lesser heard voices in the community. Since immigrating in 2021, she has written for Vancouver Magazine and The Tyee.

Hopkins graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Chico, in 2010. You can find her on LinkedIn.
