Campbell Cash Ad

I am pleased to announce that the five most popular projects posted to our 'Green Your Campbell Cash' website each will receive $500 to help them fight global warming here in British Columbia.

The $2,500 total prize is five times the original amount announced by The Tyee, a boost that we, and our generous supporters, hope will attract even more interest to the 'Campbell Cash' initiative as it enters its final weeks.

Already the site has received more than 30,000 visits and a lot of buzz in the media and blogosphere, as we offer a way for people to get the most bang for the $100 climate action dividend from the B.C. government. Perhaps you've already spent yours or put it in the bank, but if you're still considering what to do with it, we've got some ideas that go beyond the standard light bulb change.

Our 'Green Your Campbell Cash' website showcases nearly 70 collective climate-action projects taking place throughout B.C. to which you can pledge your support -- and your climate action dividend.

Projects range from nature schools and solar BBQs, to rooftop gardens and transportation innovations. So, if you're looking for creative ways to put your $100 to work for the environment, come take a look. You can browse the climate action projects, vote for your favourites, and connect with project organizers directly to make a donation.

You can also post your own project or share your personal commitment for greening your Campbell cash.

Vote for cash prizes

And now we're pleased to announce another reason to get involved in greening your Campbell cash. We've got cash prizes for the five projects that receive the most votes.

Here's how it works: we'll take each project's average rating and multiply it by the total number of votes received to determine the top five projects. At the end of the voting period, each of these winning projects will receive a $500 cash prize.

If you're a project organizer, now's the time to mobilize your support networks and ensure they vote for your project. If you're a visitor to the site, be sure to vote for your favourite projects and help them win a cash prize.

Either way, we hope you'll join in and green your Campbell cash. And to everyone who has visited the site, posted a project or a personal commitment, voted for their favourite projects and encouraged their friends to do the same, we thank you for your support.

Important Deadlines to Remember

Deadline to submit projects to the site: July 15
Voting deadline: July 25
Prize winners announced: July 30

More details about the winners announcement to follow in the coming weeks.

    Thanks for the exposure

I have a couple of green projects entered with absolutely no chance of winning.
They are appropriate technology projects which people tend to look down on but which have worldwide significance.
I seek other people to try them rather than the money. Thanks Brian
