If you follow us on Twitter or are a "fan" of The Tyee on Facebook, you probably already know about our Readership Survey. For those that haven't heard, boy do we have news for you!

In an effort to better understand you, our readers, we're conducting a survey. After all, you guys and gals are what make The Tyee! You're the most important part of our online community, and your opinions and ideas matter to us. Knowing what you like, don't like, and wish you saw more of on The Tyee will help us provide you with a better online news magazine.

So here's the deal. For 10 minutes of your time and access to your deepest, most personal opinions on online media, you get... to feel pretty darn special for helping you local, independent news source! You'll be a champion of indie journalism, a supporter of the little guy!

Not enough? Alright, fine. To sweeten the deal, we have a fantastic prize. Thanks to our friends at Ocean Village Resort in Tofino, we'll award one lucky survey respondent with a free weekend in one of OV's beautiful beachside cabins!

The Readership Survey can be taken online in 10 to 15 minutes. There are 35 questions. At the end, you'll be asked for your contact information and whether you'd like to be entered in the draw for the Tofino Weekend prize. If you want to complete the survey anonymously, simply leave the fields for your name and email address blank, and check the box next to "No" when you're asked about entering the contest.

And now for the legal bits. As you probably know already, sharing your name and email address with The Tyee means you share it only with The Tyee -- we don't sell or rent our readers' information to any other parties. We should also mention that this survey is strictly for research purposes. Survey findings will be reported only in aggregate form and individual respondents cannot be identified.

Click here to take the survey now!

Thank you for your time, and best of luck in the contest! As far as we're concerned, you're all winners for helping us make The Tyee the best online news site out there. [Tyee]
