Tyee Poll: Will You Get Immunized Once the COVID-19 Vaccine Is Made Available to You?

Frontline health workers caring for high-risk Canadians have begun receiving immunizations for COVID-19.

The first vaccine rollout, made by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech, necessitates two doses at least three weeks apart. The vaccine is still in the first phase of distribution, with priority going to those working in long-term care and directly caring for COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

Subsequent communities to receive the vaccine include other frontline health workers, seniors over 70, and some Indigenous adults in remote communities. Health Canada has recently approved the Moderna vaccine and Canada has contracts to procure seven vaccines in total.

The Public Health Agency of Canada has said all Canadians who want to be vaccinated can be by the fall of 2021. But research has shown the success of vaccination programs are dependent on people's willingness to get the vaccine. With this in mind, we want to ask:

Will you get immunized once the COVID-19 vaccine is made available to you?
