Jaws dropped across the country as Jody Wilson-Raybould gave her astonishing testimony on Feb. 27. The former minister of Justice and Attorney General revealed claims of attempted political interference from multiple people in the government — including members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office — in the SNC-Lavalin matter. The efforts were to secure a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA), which would allow SNC-Lavalin to avoid criminal prosecution over bribery allegations, with frequent mentions of lost jobs and an upcoming election in Quebec.
