Tyee Poll: What Do You Know about Renting? Test Your Knowledge

Renting a home versus owning a home is far from a purely financial matter. Wrapped up in the box we call “home” are lifetime goals, a sense of place and community, self-image, prejudices and myths.

At The Tyee, our reporting on housing often focuses on the challenges of securing a roof over one’s head. In markets across Canada, the prospect of owning a home is becoming out of reach for many people, meaning that many of us are facing the reality of being long-term renters.

On Feb. 22, The Tyee is hosting Home for Good: Building the Secure, Affordable Rental Stock We Need where we’ll hear from a variety of speakers about what’s being done, and what could be done, to make renting our homes a secure, affordable option for all.

If you’ll be in Vancouver around then, please join us.
