Local filmmaker Doreen Manuel is taking her thought-provoking film Freedom Babies on the road to Salmon Arm next week.
The documentary follows Indigenous activist and relative Kanahus Manuel as she defies Canadian laws she says oppress and colonize her people. Her children are not registered with the government, and she raises them off the land in a traditional earth pit house. Find out more about the Salmon Arm event here.
