The B.C. government recently announced that proof of vaccination will be required to participate in many indoor entertainment and social activities, including restaurant dining and attending bars, sports events and movie theatres.
Proof of a single dose will be required as of Sept. 13 and two doses as of Oct. 24. The government is planning to assess the program on a monthly basis with the estimated timeline of it being in effect until the end of January.
Current intake for vaccine appointments is already increasing, suggesting the change has led those who were vaccine hesitant to make immunization a priority.
But to curb the continuing increase in cases and hospitalizations during the fourth wave, the uptick in appointments for first and second doses will need to be substantial. With this in mind, we want to ask:
