Tyee Poll: Are You Concerned About Ticks?

At one time, ticks were considered a minor nuisance in rural, forested areas. Now they’re endemic in many parts of Canada — as is the Lyme disease they carry.

The prominence of ticks and Lyme disease are largely considered to be directly correlated with climate change as ticks expand north to environments they couldn’t survive in before.

Diagnosis for Lyme can be difficult, while treatment in early stages is crucial to mitigating long-term effects. A vaccine was once on the market at the turn of the millennium but now exists only for dogs.

With the increasing presence of ticks in local communities, we want to ask:

Are you concerned about ticks?
