Tyee Poll: As Convention Nears, Last Time We'll Ask: Should Mulcair Stay Leader?

In January, we asked Tyee readers whether Tom Mulcair should stay on as NDP leader. About 57 per cent of you wanted him to go, 34 per cent wanted him to stay, and eight per cent were undecided.

As we reported, the post-election Mulcair has since tried to channel Bernie Sanders, apologized for shortcomings and promised to do better.

Delegates at the NDP convention in Edmonton April 8 to 10 will decide Mulcair's fate, but some have already sounded off. New Westminster-Burnaby MP Peter Julian of the NDP wants Mulcair to stay, while other New Dems in Montreal want him out.

Columnist Murray Dobbin also believes Mulcair's gotta go: "If delegates recognize that the party faces an existential crisis, they will reject Thomas Mulcair and confront the hard reality that Justin Trudeau is making the NDP irrelevant," he wrote in The Tyee last week.

We thought we'd give you one more chance to sound off before the official vote is taken. Tell us...
