Tyee Poll: Do You Support a Full Public Inquiry into Charity Tax Audits?

Last week Tyee columnist Mitch Anderson made a case for a public inquiry into whether the Canada Revenue Agency improperly took political direction from the Prime Minister's Office. He noted the CRA has audited scores of progressive charities since 2012, and called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to trigger a legally-mandated probe to clear the air.

Anderson also recounted Americans' fiery backlash when the United States tax agency was embroiled in a similar scandal in 2011. Congressional committees investigated, three senior officials were forced to resign, and politicians of all political stripes called for criminal charges.

Given what Anderson calls a comparatively "meek" response by Canadians, tell us...
