Tyee Poll: Does Canada Need a National School Food Program?

In her ongoing series on kids and food, The Tyee's Katie Hyslop reports that among G7 and OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries, Canada is the only one without a national school food program.

Studies have shown subsidized school meals lower kids' likelihood of eating junk food, increase consumption of fruit, veggies or milk at school, and encourage lower BMI. The United States has had a school meals program for over half a century. Britain got one this year. Should Canada follow their lead?
