Tyee Poll: Should Increased Funding for Post-Secondary Education be a Priority for the BC Government?
The Research Universities' Council of BC reports that by 2016, the number of jobs requiring post-secondary education will exceed the supply of university, college or trade-school graduates. By 2020 nearly 19,000 jobs could go unfilled due to a lack of necessary training.
BC's academic institutions do not currently have the financial means to create the student spaces required to offset the predicted skills and talent deficit.
