Vancouver's major civic left party has finalized the team it will take into November's election.

South Asian community leader Kashmir Dhaliwal will be Vision Vancouver's eighth and final candidate for council. Vision confirmed his candidacy in a recount after a marathon nomination meeting this weekend.

The party also confirmed school board candidate Ken Clement, an Aboriginal community advocate, in another recount.

Pivot Legal Society lawyer David Eby finished just short of the council slate with 17 votes, a number confirmed in the recount. At a press conference Tuesday morning, the prominent advocate for homeless people threw his support behind Dhaliwal and Vision.
