The Canadian Newspaper Association and the Canadian Community Newspapers Association, which have worked together under a co-management agreement for the past two years, will relaunch under a combined title: Newspapers Canada.
Along with the new name comes a new site, new logo and new tagline (Trusted. Connected. Targeted.) The idea is to provide a "united front for marketing purposes." The structure and governance for both associations will remain the same.
John Hinds, President and CEO of CNA/CCNA said in a press release: “The two associations have been working together under a co-management agreement for more than two years. Many of the organizations’ activities and resources have been combined. As well, many of our initiatives (such as the Freedom of Information Audit) are applicable across all newspapers. The new branding reflects the current industry and its future. It was designed to build off our roots while demonstrating our strength and growth in delivering news across multiple platforms.”
