The Hook: Political news, freshly caught

HST makes Canada laugh

Does HST make you mad? Happy? Sad? Enraged?

Well, now it can make you laugh.

Canada’s number four comedy video yesterday, The Tax Files, is a Pulp Fiction parody featuring a dubbed over conversation between John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson about Canada’s favorite new tax: “PST GST JST LST EST QST 8ST and now HST, that’s new right?”

Travolta, in awe:

“It’s legal to carry out a protest against the tax but that doesn’t matter, because get a load of this alright? If you get elected by the Canadians based on promises not to raise taxes, it’s legal for you to create new taxes without their consent! I mean that’s a right Canadians and Americans don’t have!”

Jackson plans:

“Oh man, I’m goin, that’s all there is to it. I’m goin to Ottawa to get elected.
