Correction: Canwest parody lawsuit

In a story posted March 5 on The Hook, The Tyee reported that B.C. Supreme Court Justice Elliott Myers described a defence argument in a lawsuit involving a parody issue of The Vancouver Sun as, “with respect, inept.”

The story was based on oral reasons for judgement delivered in chambers by Justice Myers.

A written version of those reasons made public today shows that, in fact, Justice Myers said the argument was, “with respect, inapt.”

The full text of the reasons can be found on the B.C. Supreme Court website.

Making A Mockery Out Of the News

"the existence of goodwill, deception of the public due to a misrepresentation"

In oral argument, Mr. Murray further submitted that the plaintiff's editorial policies are relevant because he will argue at trial that the public are aware of the policies and therefore they could not confuse the mock edition with the Vancouver Sun

Not necessarily a good argument as public has many questions to the credibility of the content of the Can West and its inability to grasp the news important to everyday citizens leaving many wondering, is Can West trying to make a Mockery of the News? Like say with Glen Clark the former premier, you know how the 6 'O'Clock news targeted his home and did a invasion on his family because he helped a Buddie out? I mean it was plastered all over the news and the man's political career and his integrity were left in Scampbell's advantage. So whats the difference between Scampbell and Kinsella and his others buddies that all profited from the sale of the BC's trains? A billion, bonuses in the hundred of thousands, big payoffs? What? Maybe Clark's problem is he didn't advertise enough like say in the billions. Thats it? Its not what you say or do but its how you spend the people's money on advertising telling it like it isn't while Scampbell is left to do his thing with the people's money and things. Is it okay for a premier to do such things? Can he be trusted? Can CanWest be trusted to tell the news?

So are all the news teams

Sporting their Olympic outfits for the 2010 as Can West takes on the Olympics as was just visulizing them busting through Campbell's home with Global's news team and the RCMP. Of course they will be sporting their Olympic uniforms while questioning Scampbell with his family present on issues of public trust. And then they can turn the camera on themselves and then the RCMP because really who can you believe?

Liberals stratgey was to flood the public with message after message and we all know thats oh so true as Scampbell is pushing his agenda for him and his friends in low places and high positions.
So what do you think Billions in advertising and I'm wondering if the public is going to feel it money well spent when your trying to feed them a news line? Even Ministries really hurting have hefty advertising budgets as often you can see their advertisments everywhere.
